There are several steps you can take to reduce your risk of developing diabetes.

  • Aim to achieve and maintain a healthy weight by eating a balanced diet and getting regular physical activity.
  • Eat a healthy diet: A diet that is high in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins can help reduce your risk of diabetes.
  • Avoid processed foods, sugary drinks, and foods high in saturated and trans fats.
  • Get regular physical activity: Aim for at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity aerobic activity or 75 minutes of vigorous-intensity activity each week.
  • Regular physical activity can help you maintain a healthy weight and lower your risk of diabetes.
  • Don’t smoke: Smoking increases your risk of diabetes and many other serious health problems. If you smoke, quitting can lower your risk of diabetes and improve your overall health.
