Things Nursing Moms Must Avoid in Order to Make Enough Breast Milk— Expert

In order to give their babies high-quality breast milk, nursing moms must maintain their emotional stability, be worry-free, and feed healthily.

Additionally, it has been suggested that they nurse their infants exclusively for at least six months after the baby is born, as this will ensure the child’s health and other advantages.

This counsel was delivered over the weekend by Mrs. Magdalene Ekpenyong, the focal point at the Primary Healthcare Center in Henshaw Town, Calabar. During World Breastfeeding Week, hundreds of moms were educated on the many advantages of exclusive breastfeeding.

“There’s serious need for nursing mothers to eat well, so that they can produce enough milk for the baby.

It is very recommended that they feed the babies when they are hungry, not just because they feel like it or have time. All the nutrients newborns need to grow properly are found in breast milk. Breastfeeding is crucial because it shapes infants gradually.

Some moms give their newborns water to drink, but Ekpenyong scowled at them since she believed that water was already present in breast milk.

She urged more sensitization, arguing that it will improve women’s education and dispel misconceptions.

She said, “In this case, the baby can be fed with baby formula.” If the mother passed away before the baby was born. But it will be better if its grandmother is around and able to produce milk.

Mothers who consume specific foods or beverages, such as palm wine, that aid in increasing breast milk production, were not discouraged by the focal person.

Nonetheless, some Calabar women have taken issue with the recommendation that infants should be given their mothers’ milk.

They maintained that infants who are not given their mothers’ breast milk only are just as intellectual and healthy.

Sewing enthusiast Mrs. Salomey Akpan, forty, said that women shouldn’t be required to nurse their children just.
