In the ongoing crisis in Rivers State, a new development has arisen as a High Court in Port Harcourt has issued an order preventing the Chief Judge of the state and the Clerk of the state House of Assembly from handling any resolutions from Pro-Wike Lawmakers.

Hon. Justice Jumbo Stephens of the Port Harcourt High Court granted an interim injunction following an exparte order brought before it by the Governor and the Attorney General of Rivers State.

With the case bearing suit number PHC/2177/CS/2024, the 27 pro-Wike lawmakers, led by Martins Amaewhule, are the first set of defendants, while the pro-Fubara Lawmakers, Chief Judge of Rivers State, Clerk of the Rivers State House of Assembly, and Peoples Democratic Party are the second set of defendants.
